Hi everyone! People have been asking how can they still buy and sell real estate in the Bay Area when we are in a Shelter in Place Situation. Thanks to the great folks at eXp Realty, I have guidance on this situation I can share with you. Currently, in Solano Country, real estate has not been deemed an essential service, so agents, buyers and sellers and all related to real estate services should be sheltering in place…no one can buy and sell homes there right now.
In most other Bay Area counties, real estate has been deemed an essential service and you can buy and sell homes with the restrictions shown in the picture. Here is the current info for the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, and Sonoma. San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties default to state’s definition. I don’t have guidance as to how those counties say business has to be done. If you or someone you know needs or wants to buy or sell a home while the shelter in place is taking place, I would be happy to assist you using the safety precautions we are mandated to use shown in the picture.
