If your loan is owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, there are certain agreements in place about loan deferments. Make sure you read my other post about deferments before making any decisions about what you want to do. The person you pay your mortgage to is your loan services. On occasion, the company servicing your loan is the Investor on your loan, but usually, the company you pay is just servicing your loan for the people who actually own it/are the investors for it.
